GREEN FEST'12

It is a competition regarding landscaping, showing ability of the participants how well they modify the visible features of an area of land keeping in mind environmental and economical aspects. It will also show how well the participants know their college and how they want it to be.

It consists of 2 rounds.

Round 1: round the team has to select any area of the college and have to do landscaping and showing it by making drawing of that area on charts that are provided to you. They have to put all efforts to make it an environment friendly, economical idea.

Round 2: the teams have to present and explain their idea in front of the judges.

1.One team comprises of max 4 members.

2.The area chosen should be strictly inside the college premises.

3.Participants have to bring their own colours, only pencil, sharpener and eraser will be provided.

4.Mention the area of the college, which, team has selected for landscaping.

5.Each team can select only one particular area.

6.Team once entered the room cannot leave before the submission of their sheet.

This is an initiative on behalf of we care-green movement to make best out of waste. Gold is also a by product in copper mining , so everything thrown as waste is not actually waste and can be reused. So this is call for all to come, participate and show us your creative minds.

Round 1: It is a written round with objective multiple choice question

Round 2: Teams will be short listed for this round. In this round, each team has to make a useful object or article from the materials provided to them on the spot. Paints also will be provided to those who want to paint on empty bottles and DVDs .

Round 3: A formal presentation of model in front of judges.

With basic motto of bringing everything under lable green, the event green solutions aims to look for implementable technologies that can aid in conserving the deteriorating environment.

This is basically a model making competition. The participants are required to develop a solution oriented demonstration model (static or working) based on themes like

3.Plan for a green city etc.

The event consists of two rounds .

Round 1: the team would be required to submit an abstract (300 words) explaining the topic and the model they intend to present.

1.Abstracts can be submitted in word/PDF format before last date(6pm,23rd march) of submission.

2.Person per team: maximum 4, the model making must include the contribution of all the members.

Considering the current state of mess that surrounds our ecology and environment, experts have proposed quick implementation of eco-friendly steps across all dimensions of human work to prevent our planet from an ecological and environmental collapse.

"Nvisage" is a core event of green fest. This time it is case study event that aims to study and review different environmental related problem in Raipur and gather fresh ideas that can be suitably adapted to ameliorate the ailing environment and bring everything under label green.

The topics for case study:-

1. Air pollution in Raipur due to particulate emissions:- The air in Chhattisgarh is rapidly getting polluted due to emissions generated from motor vehicles and industrial processes. Present a detailed study about pollution of air in Raipur and its remedial solution.

2.Pollution of surface water:-The water bodies of Raipur are getting heavily loaded with pollutants leading to disturbance in ecological balance. Present a detailed study about pollution in ponds and river of Raipur and its remedial solution.

3.Effect of mining operation in C.G:- During mining operations, a lot of dust and fumes are added in the air and they enter the human body and the area of its influence is greatly increased in summer when strong winds are quite common. Present a detailed study about effect of mining operation in C.G and its remedial solution.

4.Concrete jungle of Raipur:- Concrete jungles have virtually invaded the landscape of what were once adorable. Present the study of current condition of Raipur and plan a city with buffer and green zone as a solution.

5.E-waste in Raipur:- Present a detailed study about collection ,recycling and management of e-waste in Raipur.

6.Design of sanitary system:- Presently due to lack of proper sanitary system in Raipur all the domestic waste is flooded into the kharoon river Propose a study of current situation and a well designed sanitary system for Raipur with effective treatment of water.

7. Any environmental related study in Raipur .

The indiscriminate use of natural resources, urbanization, industrial revolution, nuclear wars and pollution has put human race in jeopardy. Showing/reaching the survival camp (a secret project started by the international leaders to ensure humanity's survival) as/is the only choice for survival of mankind.

Your life is at stake and reaching the survival camp is the only way for your survival and it's not an easy deal. You are supposed to find the map of the secret location, Breach the security systems, pass unnoticed and cross many more hurdles that are to come.

So get ready and be prepared to begin the adventurous journey to the survival camp for you know you are not going to survive unless.

This is a team event having 2 participants. The event consists of 3 rounds.

Round 1: This is a written prelims round to test the participants aptitude, analytical and technical knowledge (Conduction time: 1 hour) .
Top 15 teams will be selected for second round based on their scores.

Round 2: of treasure hunt. Top 10 teams based on their scores are selected to the next round.

Round 3:Here the participants are to solve the clues and complete the tasks to reach the survival camp. First 3 teams reaching the survival camp will be the winners.

Participants have to make a Documentary on environment issues/topics. They have no restrictions on the classification they choose under Environment, but the documentary should not tress-pass the limit of 4 min-7 minutes. Judging criteria will depend on the content, the expression, cinematography etc.

The participants have to submit their documentaries to the co-ordinators..

Participants must not upload the documentary to Internet until the results are declared.

1. Members in one team- max 3.

2.Obscenity of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.

3.The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.

4.The duration of the documentary should be between 4-7 minutes only.

Green Fest In Association with Click Club Presents "Click For The Earth" an Environmental Photography Competition,The goal of participants is to click dramatic images that elicit a response, feelings or motivates a change of attitude and actions towards the environment

So grab your cameras and start clicking for mother nature.

This is an online event.

The competition starts on 15 March 2012(8 am) and ends on 23rd March 2012 (11 pm).

Participants need to mail the photographs to nitrrclickclub@gmail.com .

The photo must be in relevance with the three themes provided.The participants must comply with the rules and regulations mentioned failing to which their photos wont be accepted.

Themes:

1. Changing Face Of Earth- The Participants have to click images involving deep stories to create an ecological awareness which will help to motivate a change of attitude and actions towards our environment.

2. Importance Of Nature In Daily Life - Participants have to submit photos showing how the five elements of nature are important to us

3. Environmental Degradation By Human Activities - Participants have to submit photos showing human activities that cause instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to the ecosystem i.e. physical systems or living organisms.

1: Each participant is allowed to enter for event with maximum one photograph in each theme. Thus, in total, max three photographs can be submitted by each participant.

2: Photographs must be accompanied with suitable caption, description, camera specification and date, all these details must be in a text file attachment along with e mail,captions on the photograph are not allowed.

3: Mobile Photography is allowed, with minimum resolution of 5megapixels .

4: Editing is allowed but originality of photographs must be maintained(No addition of elements).
5: Participant can mail their photographs from 15 March to 23 March (before 12pm) at gogreennitrr@gmail.com.

6: Late entries will not be accepted.

You are provided with natural colours like kumkum, mehendi, nil, haldi and you have to paint without using brush.

Usage of leaves or cotton like stuff is permitted.

There is no time limit. You can come anytime and paint at your own pace.

In Smart Industries, we test how eco-friendly your industry is. Although a lot of new and modern eco-friendly technologies are being developed every day all over the world, our industries have been following conservative processes. What is the reason behind this?
So friends, it is now up to you to implement such feasible recent green technologies in our industries.

This is a team event. Each team should have a max of 3 members.
The event consists of 2 rounds.

Round 1: This is a preliminary round. The participants have to submit a brief description of the green technology that you plan to establish in the existing Indian industry. The plan must contain:

It will be a quiz competition based absolutely upon environmental facts, information regarding natural resources & ecological events. It will cover various topics such as geography, politics, ecology, environmental science, Biotechnology, history, recent events; all concerning environment.

This is a team event. Each team should have a max of 2 members.
The event consists of 2 rounds.

Round 1: 30 MCQs will be asked to solve. As many teams can participate.

Round 2: Top 4 teams will be selected on the basis of their score of prelims. Questions based upon environmental facts will be asked. It will consist of audio-visual clip round in which questions related to shown clip will be asked, following it will be reasoning round in which a statement will be given & teams will have to explain it, following it will be rapid fire round in which questions with one word answer will be asked in succession for continuous 2 minutes & all the four teams will get the chance to attempt question in succession. At the end of 2 minutes event will get over & whatever will be the score of final teams, it will be counted.

1. Questions in final round will be passed on to next team if one team fails to answer it.

2. + 10 for every correct answer will be awarded in final round. Negative marking will be done only for 2nd round. For each wrong answer 5 marks will be deducted.

3. Only upon request of participating team, 2 options will be given in 2nd round. In such cases correct answers will carry only 5 marks & for wrong answer 10 marks will be deducted.

4. Options will be given in 1st round.

5. 1st round will be judged by go green members. Final round will be judged by invited jury.

6. For final round, teams will have to pick any 1 topic out of 8 topics & questions to that team will be asked from their desired topic. 2 teams won't be allowed to choose same topic. Least scorer of semi-finals will get to choose the topic 1st followed by 2nd last scorer & top scorer team will get to select topic at the end. Topics can be: recent event, flora, fauna, energy etc.

7. In Final round, individual teams will be advised to keep a track of their score so as to make the event absolutely transparent & impartial.

8. There is provision for Questions for audience & goodies for every correct answer. Audience questions will be the 1 which could not be answered by participating teams in final round. From time to time, new questions will also be put to audience.

9. 1 minute time limit will be given to participating teams to give the answer in final round.

The natural atmosphere is being polluted due to the unnatural factors. It is the reckless and the caustic human nature that is primarily responsible for the environmental pollution. It is the responsibility of every person in checking the causes that affect the environmental disaster and play a positive role in improving it.

We bring to you a unique inter hostel event that would serve needs of environment as well as will provide you a competition which you can enjoy.

The main motto of this event is to evaluate the consumption of energy and water in each hostel, thereby taking alternative steps and striving for the optimum utilization of the natural resources, conserving them and hence thereby reducing their consumption .All the boys hostels and the girls hostels will be participating in this events.

They have to identify the problems concerning the environment and present a documentation regarding following points

1. Problem identification
2. Cause
3. Improvement till date
4. Propose a feasible solution for the problem

1. The event will start from 16th march 2012 at 6pm and will last till 6pm of 23rd march 2012.

2. A team of 5 Members would be formed under the guidance of hostel warden of respective hostels.

3. Teams have to provide the proper documentation.

There will be 2 heads for the judging criteria –

1. Total credits= conservation credits - consumption credits.
Where,

Consumption credits = { (total power consumption/no of persons) + (total water consumption/no of persons ) }.

Conservation credits = aggregate of the points awarded towards the hostel maintenance over the event period.

Under this event we will try to focus on the awareness and the perspective of the participants towards the topic.

Rules and Regulations:
