The Director

Dr. (Mrs.) S. K. Pandey has been a Merit Scholarship holder throughout her career from school to the university degree level. She obtained B.E. (Chemical), M.E. (Chemical) and Ph.D. degrees from University of Roorkee and possesses around Thirty-Three years of Experience as faculty member at National Institute of Technology. Tiruchirapalli. She has been a dedicated teacher, researcher and an administrator and has worked at number of key positions such as Member, Executive Committee, ISTE Local Chapter (1988-92), Professor-in-charge, M.Tech. (Plant Design) and Research Activities in the Dept. of Chemical Engg. (1996-03), Controller of Examination (P.G. & B.Arch.) during 2000-01, Professor & Head, Department of Training & Placement during 2002-03 at N.I.T. Tiruchirappali and Technical Expert for National River Action Plan Pollution Abatement in River Cauvery, 1998-2003, She has been Director at National Institute of Technology, Srinagar w.e.f Dec. 2003 to Mar. 2005. She has demonstrated a high level of integrity and sincerity while working at all the above positions and the net outcome has been the positive changes in the work environment and the attainment of ultimate goals.

Dr. (Mrs.) Pandey has been actively involved in R&D work in the area of Heat transfer, Environment and Energy Engineering and has presented/published 109 research papers in the various National / International Journals and conference in the area of Heat transfer, Environmental Issues & Energy. She has visited USA, U.K. and Singapore to present her research work and was invited by foreign universities to deliver lectures. She has guided 4 Ph. D. scholars and 22 M.Tech. Students for Research in addition to large number of B.Tech. students in chemical Engineering.

Considering all her academic achievements and research contribution, Dr. (Mrs.) S.K. Pandey has been conferred with the following State/National / International Awards and Honours:

Dr. (Mrs.) Pandey, believes in doing things differently and to accept new challenges. It was a matter of great courage and self confidence with which she had accepted the most challenging assignment as Director at N.I.T. Srinagar and performed her duties with utmost care and patience to improve the work culture of the institute, which had suffered enormously due to militancy in the state of J&K over the past fifteen years.

She had taken up the assignment as Director at Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal, District Sangrur, Punjab on July 10, 2006 and was relieved on August 22, 2008 to join NIT Raipur as Director after Joining NIT Trichy for few days. In this short period, she has made number of reforms in order to achieve academic excellence and SLIET Longowal was granted the status of Deemed-to-be University in April 2007 under her able leadership.

Dr. (Mrs.) S. K. Pandey has shown an excellence academic performance during her period of studies as well as during her service tenures at NIT Tiruchirappali, NIT Srinagar and at SLIET Longowal. In these institutes, she has established a track record of academic excellence and high administrative standards.
